Charles Ray Bush

McMinnville, TN resident and Cannon County, TN native Charles Ray Bush, age 85, was born May 11, 1931 and died June 26, 2016 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN following a sudden illness. A retired maintenance supervisor with Powermatic and a member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Oren O. and Nannie Mae Whitfield Bush. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law, Ed Kirland, Jimmy Moss and Kelly Simmons. He was married June 27, 1953 to Joy Ann Miller Bush of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Anthony Ray Bush of Murfreesboro, TN and Jeff and Jimmie Dean Bush of McMinnville; daughter, Lisa Ann Bush of Nashville, TN; three grandchildren, Ryan Bush of Nashville, TN, Wesley Bush and wife Ashley of Murfreesboro, TN, and Van Bush of Murfreesboro, TN; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Clyde and Kathrine "Kitty" Bush, Maurice and Helon Bush, Dale and Mary Lynn Bush, and Robert and Carolyn Bush all of Woodbury, TN; three sisters and brother-in-law, Jean Kirland of Nashville, TN, Carolyn Moss of Woodbury, TN, and Faye and Drannon Smitson of Readyville, TN; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2016 in High's Chapel with Wayne Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow in Thyatira Cemetery, Cannon County, TN. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at High's. No flowers please.
