Richard Allen Borum, Jr.

McMinnville, TN resident and Christian County, KY native Richard Allen Borum, Jr., age 71, was born September 9, 1944 and died June 27, 2016 at the VA TN Valley Healthcare System in Nashville, TN following an extended illness. Retired from Yorozu, a United States Army Veteran of Vietnam, and a member of Browntown Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Richard Allen Borum, Sr. and Georgie Miller Curtis. He is survived by four children, Corey Smith and Shelia Smith both of Smyrna, TN, Richard Smith of Nashville, TN, and Vivian Womack of Detroit, MI; seven grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Clarence Roy and Mary Curtis; aunts, Velma Smartt Williams and husband Richard of Hopkinsville, KY, Bernice Smartt of Nashville, TN, and Jackie Smartt of Memphis, TN; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2016 in High's Chapel with Eugene Wilkerson officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with full military honors administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Friday at High's.
