Virginia Ruth George

Virginia Ruth George, age 89, a Rock Island, TN resident and Warren County, TN native died July 2, 2016 in St. Thomas River Park Hospital following an extended illness. She was a retired United States Post Office Clerk and daughter of the late Vaughn and Hester Jaco Wright. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Murl Brents George in 1980; brothers, Carl, Bryant, Herbert, Howard, James and Arthur Wright; and sister, Mary Yates. Mrs. George is survived by children and spouses, Murl and Diana George of McMinnville, Debbie and Fred Higdon of Mt. Juliet, TN and Joy and Quinn Templeton of Quebeck, TN; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Betty Sparkman of Sparta, TN. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2016 in High's Chapel with Don Schuster to officiate. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2016 and 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of service at High's.
