Helen Branham Dunlap

Rock Island, TN resident and Gallatin, TN native Helen Branham Dunlap, age 88, was born July 10, 1927 and died July 1, 2016 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville. A homemaker and a member of the Presbyterian Church, she was the daughter of the late Porter Raymond and Mallie Dobbs Branham. She was married May 29, 1970 to Joel Simpson Dunlap who preceded her in death on March 20, 1991. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Geraldine Branham and Mary Elizabeth West; and two brothers, Leonard Branham and Howard Branham. She is survived by nephew, Mark West and wife Sherri of Nashville, TN; niece, Cindy West Blackburn of Adams, TN; nephew, Gary Branham and wife Lauwanna of Gallatin, TN; niece, Rita Sowell and husband Michael of Mt. Juliet, TN; two granddaughters, Mary Beth McCoy and husband Ramsey of Rock Island, TN and Ashley Sebastian and husband Jason of Cookeville, TN; and grandson, Adam Dunlap and wife Kirsten of Cleveland, TN. Helen was known for her love of quilting and card playing. She loved her family, friends, church and the Community of Rock Island. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Rock Island Presbyterian Church with Douglas Dunlap and Sam Sims officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Rock Island Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the church.
