Mary Ann Davenport Bishop, age 81, a McMinnville, TN resident and native died August 14, 2016 at NHC Healthcare of McMinnville following a three-week illness. Mrs. Bishop was a bookkeeper at High Funeral Home for 39 years. She attended East End Church of Christ since 1938, where she was baptized in 1946. She was the daughter of the late James Monroe and Willie Frances Elrod Davenport. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, James "Sonny" Davenport; sister, Jo Ann Dove; sister-in-law, Velma Davenport; and brother-in-law, Joe Bryan Glenn. She was married November 3, 1952 to Walter M. Bishop, Jr. who survives. In addition to her husband, she is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Walter M. and Cheryl Bishop III of Manchester, TN; daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Donnie E. Redmon of McMinnville and Judith and Steve Miller of Mobile, AL; six grandchildren, John Redmon of Cleveland, TN, Andrew Redmon of McMinnville, Mills Bishop IV and wife Summer, Lyndsey Wells and husband Chase and Kelsie Fearing all of Manchester and Mary Maddlin Miller of Mobile; two sisters and brother-in-law, Lucille and Don Hayes and Faye Glenn all of McMinnville; and brother-in-law, Earl Dove of Walling, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2016 in High's Chapel with Kevin Key and Charles Williams to officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, August 15, 2016 and 11:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of service at High's. Memorial contributions may be made to Bible Call at East End Church of Christ or WSOJ Radio Station in care of East End.
