John Thomas "Tommy" Craven

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native John Thomas "Tommy" Craven, age 68, was born July 5, 1948 and died August 14, 2016 at his residence following an extended illness. He was a retired business owner and a member of the Lutheran Church. He had a passion for cooking and became quite the chef. He was enthusiastic about History as well as a music buff. He truly enjoyed UT Football and golf. He was the son of the late John William "Bill" and Sarah Mae Melton Craven. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Stephanie Robinson Craven; daughter, Tracy Louise Craven; and sister, Sarah Frances Bell. He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Christy and Chuck Carlson of McMinnville, Latisha Craven and Andy Bernhardt of McMinnville, and Calisha and Harrison Woodlee of Rock Island, TN; son, Thomas Craven of McMinnville; eight grandchildren, Cole, Cade and Cali Carlson, Tiember, Icie and True Craven, and Weston and Eastlan Woodlee; special family friend, Kristy Timmerman of Nashville, TN; niece, Rhonda B. Southard of McMinnville; and loyal companions, Bud-E and Kitty. A graveside service and interment will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2016 in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Gentry "Bucky" Newby officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday and from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Tuesday at High's. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Warren County Animal Control and Adoption Center.
