Marva Jean Hughes

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Marva Jean Hughes, age 74, was born September 17, 1941 and died August 14, 2016 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN following an extended illness. A retired hospital controller with Southern Tennessee Medical Center and a member of West Riverside Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Wiley Marvin and Dorothy Charlene Panter Coppinger. She was married to her husband of 57 years, Dorris Hughes of McMinnville. In addition to her husband, she is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Glenda Hughes of McMinnville; grandson, Caleb Allen Hughes of Franklin, TN; sister, Kay Grider of McMinnville; brother, Terry Coppinger; sister-in-law, Janet Hobbs of McMinnville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Donnie and Johnnie Hughes of McMinnville; nieces and nephews, David and Janet Hobbs of North Carolina, Brent and Christy Grider of Unionville, TN, and Debbie and Ray Boren, Cindy "C.J." Hughes, Greg Hughes, Lisa and Danny Higgins, Todd and Lynn Grider, Stephen and Tammy Hughes, Nicky and Pattie Coppinger, Scott "Bubba" Coppinger, and Teri Beth Coppinger all of McMinnville; and cousins, Roy and Tamra Hughes of McMinnville and Scott and Linda Hughes of McMinnville. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at West Riverside Church of Christ with Larry Acuff and Ray Weddington officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at High's. Memorial donations may be made to West Riverside Church of Christ.
