Gary Lee Surber, Sr.

September 11, 1946 — August 21, 2016

Gary Lee Surber, Sr., age 69, a Rock Island, TN resident and Campbell County, TN native died August 21, 2016 at his residence following an extended illness. He was a retired employee with Ferodo, member of Fall City Baptist Church and son of the late R.C. and Shirley Lee Freeman Surber. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Gary Lee Surber, Jr. and Brian Keith Surber and grandson, Daniel Jasper Earls. Mr. Surber was married April 13, 1973 to Patsy Surber who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Shannan and Shawn Earls and Amber and Peter Brackley all of Rock Island; ten grandchildren, Britney Douglas, Dustin, Dillon, Daren and Danielle Earls, Alexis, Clara, BeBe and Emma Brackley and Alec Hobbs; great-grandchild, Macyn Douglas; sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Alvin Evans of Jellico, TN; two brothers and sister-in-law, Joe Surber of Jellico, TN and Raymond and Annette Surber of Williamsburg, KY; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; special sister-in-law, Shirley Surber of Jellico, TN; mother-in-law, Jewell Rigsby of Rock Island; and three brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert and Kathy Hicks and Jeff and Robin Rigsby all of Rock Island and Jimmy and Carol Rigsby of Morrison, TN. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Fall City Baptist Church with Joey Spicer to officiate.
