Sarah Marie Starkey

Spencer, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native Sarah Marie Starkey, age 77, was born August 18, 1939 and died August 24, 2016 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A homemaker and member of Free Will Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late George Monroe and Mary L. Moore Pack. She was married January 2, 1960 to John Thomas Starkey, Sr. who preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, John Thomas Starkey, Jr. of Merritt Island, FL and James and Melinda Starkey of Spencer, TN; two grandsons, Ryan Alan Starkey and Justin Clay Starkey; step-grandson, Brandon Barnes; seven siblings and spouses, G.M. and Gloria Pack of Walling, TN, Willie and Bertha Pack and Larry and Audrey Taylor all of Spencer, TN, Bill and Rose McReynolds of Johnson City, TN, and Mary Lou Williamson, Roy and Barbara Pack, and Raymond and Paula Pack all of McMinnville; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2016 in High's Chapel with Dennis Deweese officiating. Burial will follow in Long Cemetery, Van Buren County, TN. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Friday at High's.
