Lois Montandon

Rock Island, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native Lois Montandon, age 89, was born March 5, 1927 and died September 1, 2016 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, TN following an extended illness. Retired from Genesco, she was the daughter of the late Willie C. and Dovie Alice Craig Mills. She was married October 2, 1946 to Don Montandon who preceded her in death March 15, 1997. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by daughter, Phyllis Montandon; and son, Wayne Montandon. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Wilma Montandon of Sparta, TN; two daughters and son-in-law, Belinda and Bill Gregory of Clinton, TN and Melissa Montandon of Knoxville, TN; daughter-in-law, Anzena Montandon of Rock Island, TN; sister, Evelyn Walker of Rock Island, TN; five grandsons and spouses, Mark Nunley of Oak Ridge, TN, Russell and Renee Montandon of Viola, TN, Matt and Victoria Montandon of Sparta, TN, Jason and Melissa Montandon of McMinnville, and Michael and Leesa Montandon of Cookeville, TN; six great-grandchildren, Keshia Ashton and husband Josh of Spencer, TN, Luke Montandon of Minot, ND, Ethan Montandon and Elanor Montandon both of Viola, TN, and Marlie Montandon and Sloan Montandon both of McMinnville; great-great-grandson, Brian Lynn Ashton of Spencer, TN; uncle, George Mills of Decatur, AL; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, neighbors and friends also survive. Mrs. Montandon was a resident of the Campaign Community in Warren County for many years and a member of the Campaign Church of God. She was also an active participant and supporter of the Campaign Community Club for many years before her illness. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2016 in High's Chapel with Bill Montandon and James Dykes officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Sunday at High's.
