Glenn Alford Ayers

McMinnville, TN resident and Chickamauga, GA native Glenn Alford Ayers, age 66, was born February 10, 1950 and died October 10, 2016 at his residence following a four-month illness. A retired employee of Yorozu and a member of Shellsford Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Condy Lee "Cowboy" and Virginia Dell Sowell Ayers. He is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Michelle and Carl Dodson of McMinnville and Angela Gunter of McMinnville; two granddaughters, Jaslynn Gunter and Mia Gunter both of McMinnville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lynn and Virginia Ayers of McMinnville and Buford and Debbie Ayers of McMinnville; great-nieces and great-nephews, Haley and Kacie Newby, Condy, Ellie Kate and Bo Ayers, and Colby & Blaine Blankenship; aunts, Sally Haynes and husband Robert of Chattanooga, TN and Hilda Jane Sowell of Sylvania, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2016 in High's Chapel with Steve Breedlove, David Grissom, Jeff Robinson, Jeff Hendrix and Jerry Steakley officiating. Burial will follow in Crain Hill Cemetery, Van Buren County, TN. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Friday at High's. Memorial donations may be made to The Hope Lodge, 2008 Charlotte Ave., Nashville, TN 37203 or The Glenn Ayers Memorial Scholarship Fund for the Warren County High School Fishing Team.
