Earl Taylor Mitchell

Earl Taylor Mitchell, age 88, a McMinnville, TN resident and Chattanooga, TN native was born June 11, 1928 and died November 3, 2016 in NHC Healthcare of McMinnville following an extended illness. He was a retired Lieutenant with the Tennessee Highway Patrol, veteran of the Tennessee Army National Guard, member of the Redemption Center of McMinnville and son of the late George and Flora Bell Dodd Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell was married July 1, 1948 to Nadia Evelyn Bowman Mitchell who preceded him in death January 11, 2014. Survivors include three children and spouses, Pamela Lynn of Brentwood, TN, Patricia and Bill Witt of Murfreesboro, TN and Master Sgt. Phillip Mitchell, USMC retired and Vicki Mitchell of McMinnville; six grandchildren, Ashley and Amanda Witt of Murfreesboro, Craig Mitchell of McMinnville, Brad Lynn and wife Jessica of Lascassas, TN, Ryan Lynn of Nashville, TN and Tori McPherson and husband Jonathan of Rockvale, TN; six great-grandchildren, Jordin Mitchell, Delaney Lynn, Gray Lynn, Taylor McPherson, Matthew McPherson and Maddison Lynn. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2016 in High’s Chapel with Steve Madison, Staff Sgt. David Hale and Amanda Witt to officiate. Interment will follow in Gath Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at High’s. Memorial donations may be made to TFGE Nursing Scholarship in c/o NHC.
