Timothy Ray Smith

McMinnville, TN resident and Portland, OR native Timothy Ray Smith, age 57, was born March 5, 1959 and died November 8, 2016 at his residence following an extended illness. A nursery worker and construction worker with Southern State Construction Company, he was the son of Loretta Simmons Smith of McMinnville and the late James Howard Smith, Sr. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Howard Smith, Jr. and Terry Smith. He was married June 4, 1983 to Joyce Bost Smith of McMinnville. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by three children, Vada Smith and Shane Ray Smith both of McMinnville, and Harley Davidson Smith of Tullahoma, TN; four grandchildren and three step-grandchildren; brother, Christopher Smith of McMinnville; two sisters, Phyllis Meharg of Rock Island, TN and Vickie Hodge of McMinnville; and several nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Long Mountain Baptist Church.
