McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Frank Davis Farrar, age 74, was born January 27, 1942 and died November 29, 2016 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital following a sudden illness. A member of Central Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Wade and Catherine Davis Farrar. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Nathaniel Hampton Farrar. He is survived by family, many friends, and a devoted office staff. Mr. Farrar was a graduate of Tennessee Technology University where he received a Bachelor and Masters Degree. He attended law school at the University of Tennessee where he received his law degree in 1972. He practiced law in the State Courts throughout Middle Tennessee for 44 years. He was a founding partner of the law firm of Farrar, Holliman & Butler in Lafayette, Tennessee in 1985, and Farrar, Holliman & Medley in McMinnville, Tennessee in 1999. During his career, he served as President of the Seven County Bar Association in the Upper Cumberland and was a member of the Warren County Bar Association. He was an unrelenting zealous advocate for his clients and took pride in helping people. Mr. Farrar received a Distinguished Service Award from the Governor’s Committee on Employment of the Handicapped. He has been honored for his assistance to the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars. He is the past president of the Lafayette Rotary Club and past Vice-President of the Lafayette Jaycees. Mr. Farrar loved his animals and everyone else’s. He devoted time and energy to the Humane Society and was as a benefactor of the Viola Valley Puppy Rescue. He was a long time benefactor of Taylor Christian Camp in Holland, Kentucky, as well as other philanthropic efforts. Mr. Farrar’s favorite past-time was working for his clients, but he loved fishing and could be found many Saturday mornings on the lake with his best buddy, Bill Frazier, where the fish were a lot smaller than the tales that were told. A graveside service and inurnment will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, December 4, 2016 in Mt. View Cemetery with Ben Bailey officiating. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Farrar residence, 349 W. Main Street, McMinnville, TN 37110. Memorial donations may be made to Viola Valley Puppy Rescue, Lighthouse Ministries or First Presbyterian Church.
