Dema Sue Betschart Lee, age 80, a McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native was born September 8, 1936 and died December 2, 2016 at her residence following an extended illness. She was a waitress at Chicken Chef for 26 years, where she was voted Best of The Best Waitress in 1998, member of the Church of Christ at East End and daughter of the late Lloyd and Retha Jones Grissom. Mrs. Lee was the loving wife of Robert Edward Lee who preceded her in death on November 17, 2012. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Nelson, Paul and John Grissom; and two sisters, Christine Thomas and Betty Hill. She was a giving mother to her children , Mileah Betschart Sullivan and husband Larry of Loveland, OH, Lori Betschart of Murfreesboro, TN and Michael Betschart of McMinnville; and caring grandmother to Kayla Sullivan, John Sullivan, Micah Betschart, Anna Webb, Erika Betschart Griffin, Allen Betschart, Leann Hamblen Long, Megan Hamblen Taylor and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is survived by step-children and spouses, Carol and Russ Hamblen and Ronnie and Becky Lee all of McMinnville; sister, Dorothy Clark of Bristol, IN; brother-in-law, Donnie Hill of McMinnville; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill and Eva Lee, Mattie Taylor and Judy Cunningham all of McMinnville. Nieces and nephews also survived. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2016 in High’s Chapel with Ricky Burks and Grady Partin to officiate. Interment will follow in Webb Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and 10:00 a.m. Monday until the time of service at High’s. High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
