George Edward "Eddie" Rutledge

December 19, 1950 — December 4, 2016

McMinnville, TN resident and White County, TN native George Edward "Eddie" Rutledge, age 65, was born December 19, 1950 and died December 4, 2016 at his residence following an extended illness. A retired shift supervisor with A.O. Smith and a member of Laurel Creek Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Eugene and Iris Lucille McCormick Rutledge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Shirley Armstrong; and two brothers, Jerry Rutledge and Eugene Rutledge, Jr. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Angela Michelle and Jeff Merriman of McMinnville and Teresa Ann and Jake Bishop of Herriman, UT; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice Faye and Gerald Rowland of McMinnville, Patricia Ann Austin of McMinnville; Kathleen Randolph of Sparta, TN, Ruby and Harry Cole of Walling, TN and Linda and Donald Huffman of Raleigh, NC; brother, Billy Rutledge of McMinnville; and six grandchildren, George and Reba Merriman, E.J., Berkley, Jeremiah and Aden Bishop. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2016 in High's Chapel with Roy Terry officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at High's.
