Paul Douglas Grissom

Paul Douglas Grissom, age 74, a McMinnville, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native was born April 22, 1942 and died January 1, 2017 at his residence following an extended illness. He was a retired employee of McMinnville Water Department, member of Laurel Creek Baptist Church and son of the late Phillip Lee and Velma Jewel Simons Grissom. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, David Grissom; and sister, Bonnie Mosley. Mr. Grissom was married September 10, 1966 to Judy Myers Grissom who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Anita Grissom Starkey and fiancé Todd Lowe of Gordonsville, TN and Karen and Brian Reed of Woodbury, TN; three grandchildren, Justin Clay Starkey of Spencer, TN and Elijah Reed and Zulina Reed of Woodbury; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lloyd and Lemma Grissom of Tullahoma, TN and Joel and Pam Grissom of McMinnville; two sisters and brother-in-law, Loretta and Ernie Delburn of Columbus, GA and Ruby Gooch of McMinnville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2017 in High's Chapel with Bob McCoy and Jackie Matheny to officiate. Interment will follow in Long Cemetery in Van Buren County. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service at High's. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International or Caring Hearts United.
