Loving husband, father and “Papa”, Clarence Arnold Wilson, age 69, went to his Heavenly home on January 8, 2017 at the VA Hospice in Clearwater, FL. Born July 14, 1947 in Sparta, TN, he was preceded in death by his parents, William Carl Wilson and Zula Mae Clouse Wilson, as well as his sister, Wilma Jean Wilson. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Carrie Jane Pyburn Wilson of Sparta, TN; two brothers, William Haston Wilson and Everett Monroe Wilson both of Sparta, TN; one sister, Thelma Elise Wilson Price of Sparta TN; two children, Edie Gayle Oliver and Waymon Gary (Jayna) Milstead both of McMinnville; grandchildren, Kylie (Shane) Medley, Gary (Kayla) Milstead, Ethan Milstead, Mya Buell-Oliver, Bayli Janell Milstead and Jayse Daniel Milstead all of McMinnville; two great-grandchildren, Gracie Stafford and Karaline Milstead both of McMinnville; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Mr. Wilson proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1975. He retired from Middle Tennessee Natural Gas on July 30, 2004, and enjoyed camping and fishing until his death. He was a member of the New Hope Church of Christ in Clearwater, FL. A graveside service and inurnment will be held in Hebron Cemetery Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Bob Deason and Ralph Barnes officiating. Full military honors will be administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. There will be a small gathering for family and friends at Hebron Church of Christ immediately following the service. There will be no visitation or service at High's.
