John Douglas Morrison

April 26, 1925 — February 1, 2017

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native John Douglas Morrison, age 91, was born April 26, 1925 and died February 1, 2017 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville following a two-week illness. A retired United States Marine Corps veteran of WWII and Korea and a member of Griffin Church of Christ in Griffin, GA, he was the son of the late Joseph Sutton and Thelma Annis Morrison. He is survived by longtime loving companion, Betty McKenzie of Fayetteville, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Nell Morrison of McMinnville; sister, Martha Morrison of Morrison, TN; step-daughter, Debra Marks of Georgia; best friend and special nephew, Carl S. "Buddy" Morrison, Jr. and wife Pam of McMinnville; nephew, Charles Morrison and wife LeAnn of Morrison, TN; three great-nephews, one great-niece, four great-great-nephews and two great-great-nieces; and best friend, Duck Ingram. A graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2017 in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Jim Tollison officiating. Full military honors will be administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Saturday at High's.
