McMinnville, TN resident and Auburntown, TN native Helen Lucille Johnson, age 79, was born March 28, 1937 and died February 13, 2017 at Raintree Manor following an extended illness. A homemaker and member of Brown Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Ruth Southern Wade. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter, Diane Faye Johnson; two grandsons, Spencer Lee Colvin, Jr. and Nathan Fisk; two sisters, Carrie Macon and Ruby Pleasant; and brother, Cecil Wade. She was married December 5, 1955 to James Edward Johnson of McMinnville. In addition to her husband, she is survived by eight children, Joyce A. (Otis Perkins) Johnson, Gary Lee Johnson, Carl E. Johnson, Timothy Wayne Johnson and James D. Johnson all of McMinnville, Nora (Norby) Borshel of Salt Lake City, UT, and Shelia (Noble) Kakoro and Shaun Dorian Johnson (Belita) of Antioch, TN; eighteen grandchildren and thirty-three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Olivia Wooten of Tullahoma, TN, and Nora Arnold and Janice King both of McMinnville; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Brown Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Wyatt and Doug Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church.
