Sarah Elizabeth Milstead

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Sarah Elizabeth Milstead, age 80, was born July 30, 1936 and died February 27, 2017 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN following a sudden illness. A homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Jenry and Ruth Muncey Delaney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Billy Delaney; and two sisters, Linda Muller and Ellen Pack. She was married June 23, 1952 to James Lonnie Milstead of the Irving College Community. In addition to her husband of 64 years, she is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Candy Milstead of the Irving College Community; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tonyua and Dwight Hickey of McMinnville and Valorie and Mike Denney of McMinnville; five grandchildren and spouses, Mileah Milstead of the Irving College Community, and Kyle and Janet Hickey, Kenya and Mike Steakley, Jason and Lauren Denney, and Jody and Jessica Denney all of McMinnville; four great-grandchildren, Zach Morrison, Addison Steakley, Leah Steakley and Lane Steakley all of McMinnville, with two great-grandsons on the way; sister, Polly Bratcher of the Centertown Community; brother, Sonny Delaney of Manchester, TN; sisters-in-law, Edna Milstead and Mary Ellen Milstead; and many nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017 in High's Chapel with David Costello officiating. Burial will follow in Hebron Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at High's.
