Willie Roberts, age 69, a McMinnville, TN resident and Grundy County, TN native was born June 2, 1947 and died March 15, 2017 in St. Thomas River Park Hospital following an extended illness. He was a retired field manager for Harold Hillis Nursery, member of the Pentecostal Church and son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Anna Lee King Roberts. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Glen Edward Roberts; and sister, Sylvia Jean Panter. Mr. Roberts was married November 26, 1966 to Charlene Basham Roberts who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Kimberly Ouahdani of McMinnville; granddaughters, Natasha Childers and Charlise Washer both of McMinnville; four great-granddaughters, Caitlin Washer, Gabriella Washer, Bebe Washer and Kinsley Washer; three sisters and spouses, Juanita Dixson, Judy and Glenn Jennings and Marilyn and Gary Myers all of McMinnville; uncle and aunt, Lannie and Joy King of McMinnville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2017 in High’s Chapel with Ricky Basham to officiate. Interment will follow in Philadelphia Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday and 10:00 a.m. Friday until the time of service at High’s.
