Smithville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Harrison "Sonny" Biles, Jr., age 87, was born September 20, 1929 and died May 10, 2017 at his residence following an extended illness. A retired supervisor with Arnold Engineering Air Force Base in Tullahoma, TN, a U.S. Army veteran, and a member of East End Drive Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Harrison E. and Catherine Spurlock Biles, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by first wife, Bobbie Northcutt Biles; brother, Bobby Biles; sister, Josephine Crabtree; and great-granddaughter, Tyneisha Bell. He was married December 31, 1994 to Jean Stokes Biles of Smithville, TN. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five sons, Harrison Eugene (Jessie) Biles, III, Paul Biles, Billy Biles, and David Biles all of McMinnville, and Leroy (Steve) Biles of San Antonio, TX; five step-children, Timothy Tubbs of Washington, D.C., Gregory Tubbs of Cookeville, TN, Anthony (Angela) Tubbs of Smithville, TN, Darla (Stephen) Whitaker of Smyrna, TN, and Shaun Tubbs of Smithville, TN; devoted granddaughter, Charlisa Woods; brother, George Biles of Nashville, TN; four sisters, Frankie Dalton, Marjorie Martin, Sally (Frank) Smith, and Barbara Biles all of McMinnville; twenty-two grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; life-long friends, Robert "Bub" Bonner and Phillip "Buddy" Smith; a host of nieces, nephews and church family; and special niece, Mary Sanders. Funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017 at East End Drive Church of Christ with Burnes Lyons and Phillip Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with full military honors administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
