Fred Wesley Sain, Jr., age 97, a McMinnville, TN resident and Davidson County, TN native was born December 7, 1919 and died May 16, 2017 in NHC Healthcare of McMinnville following an extended illness. He was retired from the United States Post Office, a United States Navy veteran of World War II, member of Bybee Branch Church of Christ and long time member of Central Church of Christ and son of the late Fred Wesley and Ruby Irene Stubblefield Sain. Mr. Sain was married November 13, 1938 to Laura Kathryn Martin Sain who preceded him in death on February 4, 2008. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brother, Raymond Sain; and sisters, Mary Bailey, Frances Prater & Mildred McGiboney. He was a multi-talented, gifted craftsman and a very special Papa Sain. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Linda Sain and John T. Mason III of Cookeville, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Norman Wesley and Barbara Gaw Sain of McMinnville; five grandchildren, Ashli Sain Komistek of Knoxville, TN, Zac Sain and Hunter Sain both of McMinnville, Malissa Mason Starkey of North Port, FL and John Mason IV of Spicewood, TX; and eleven great-grandchildren. Graveside service and interment will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2017 in Mt. View Cemetery with Tony Lawrence to officiate. Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. Thursday at High’s.
