Robbie Melton Beaver, 95, a McMinnville resident and Warren County native, was born March 23, 1922 and died June 9, 2017 at her residence. She was retired and a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Beaver attended Tennessee Technological University. She was a member of the First United Methodist Prayer Shawl group, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Order of the Eastern Star, a charter member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She served as a Girl Scout Leader, a Cub Scout Den Mother, PTA room mother, was involved in the organization of Magness Memorial Library Genealogy Room, and a volunteer in numerous activities in the community over the years. Mrs. Beaver enjoyed many hobbies over the years including traveling, camping, cooking, gardening and flowers, knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting, refinishing furniture, and researching family histories and the history of Warren County. She was the daughter of the late Marvin Robert "M.R." Melton and Maudie Dorothy Catherine "Katie" Shaver. She was married to George Mason Beaver on February 9, 1943 in Rossville, GA, who preceded her in death on February 21, 2010. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Irma, Gladys, Clara and Jewel, and brothers, Berlie and Marvin. She is survived by her daughter, Robbie Sue Pichon (Daniel) of Dawsonville, GA and her son, George M. Beaver, Jr. (Judy Thomas) of McMinnville; grandchildren, Lindsay Beaver (Sal Taglireno) of Orlando, FL, Ginny Alvarado (Michael) of McMinnville, and Katy Beaver (Chris Summers) of McMinnville; great-grandchild, Serenity Summers; and several cherished nieces, nephews and loving family and friends. Mrs. Beaver will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
