Hobert Brown began life’s journey on February 7, 1940 to the parentage of the late Nathaniel and Gladys Terry of McMinnville. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle. He was also a loyal friend to those who knew him. Even though he moved his family to Wichita, KS years ago, he never forgot where his roots came from. He loved the Lord and accepted him into his heart. On Saturday, June 10, 2017, God and his special way at his perfect time, picked from our midst this sweet soul and added him to his heavenly garden where his spirit will bloom forever. Memories of Hobert will forever live in the hearts of his wife, Joann Looper Brown and his six daughters all of Wichita, KS, and a son. He also leaves to mourn his brother, Larry (Lisa) Brown of McMinnville; six sisters, Eva (Fred) Savage, Maxcine (Jerry) Braston, Nathana Denise Grayson and Shirley Martin all of McMinnville, Patricia Dillard of Decatur, GA and Teresa Blakely of Knoxville, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Sue Carol Thomas and Brenda King; nephew, Tony C. Brown; and two nieces, Connie Savage and Deanna Grayson; and special aunts, Era Scruggs and Josie Donahue. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 2017 at East End Drive Church of Christ, 229 East End Drive, McMinnville, TN 37110. The family would like to thank all who offered kind words, a card, or sent flowers and food. Whatever you did to console our hearts, we thank you.
