Jean Smith Jennings

May 28, 1926 — July 2, 2017

Murfreesboro, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Jean Smith Jennings, age 91, was born May 28, 1926 and died July 2, 2017 at her residence following an extended illness. A homemaker and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in McMinnville, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Farr and Johanna Pitson Smith. She was married to Raymond Oakley Jennings who preceded her in death on September 6, 2009. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Louis P. "Bud" Smith, Kenneth P. Smith, Ray P. Smith, Stephen P. Smith and Leonard F. Smith, Jr.; and three sisters, Joan McGregor, Mildred Bussell and Margaret McCumber. She is survived by four children and spouses, Robert C. and Christie Jennings, Ellyn and Mark Butler, and Christel Perkins all of Murfreesboro, TN, and Jan and Paul Windrow of Rockvale, TN; eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017 in High's Chapel with Rev. Harry Green and Joel Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service Thursday at High's. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alive Hospice.
