Jimmy Dodson Wood, age 67, a Hermitage, TN resident and Warren County, TN native was born October 11, 1950 and died October 29, 2017 at his residence following a sudden illness. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, retired employee of VF Imagewear, member of the United Methodist Church and son of the late Willie Elbert Wood, Sr. and Mary Vivian Bess Wood. Mr. Wood is survived by children and spouses, Luci Dyer of Murfreesboro, TN, Sheri and Brian Wyatt of Mt. Juliet, TN, Jimmy and Heather Wood II of Nashville, TN and William and Joel McVeigh of Murfreesboro; five grandchildren, Kayla Compton of Murfreesboro, Zachary and Houston Wood and Peyton and Cade Wyatt all of Mt. Juliet; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Barbara Wood of Clarksville and Willie Elbert and Linda Wood, Jr. of South Carolina; sister, Sue Anderson of Morrison, TN; and several nieces, nephews, beloved friends and co-workers. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 2, 2017 in High’s Chapel with Jonathan Anderson to officiate. Interment will follow in Wilson Chapel Cemetery with military grave rites conducted by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and 10:00 a.m. Thursday until the time of service at High’s. Memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels.
