Annie Burbage

Annie Burbage, age 98, a McMinnville, TN resident and native was born August 19, 1919 and died October 31, 2017 at her residence following a sudden illness. She was a homemaker, member of Shellsford Baptist Church and daughter of the late Claude and Jewell Walker Holland. Mrs. Burbage was married October 29, 1938 to Wilbur Clifton Burbage, Jr. who preceded her in death on May 6, 1988. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Jack Holland, George Holland and Chester Holland; and sisters, Ruby Byrd, Mattie Thompson, Johnnie Maxwell and Joyce Whiteaker. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Caroline and Henry Catey of McMinnville; granddaughter, Michele Williams and husband Greg of Goldsboro, NC; five great-grandchildren, Micah Joyce, Jenica Prescott, Josiah Joyce, Anna Williams and Christian Williams; great-great-granddaughter, Lennon Prescott; and four brothers and spouses, Ronald and Katherine Holland of McMinnville, Donald Holland of Eagleville, TN, Dorse and Myrtle Holland of McMinnville and Earl and Ruth Holland of LaVergne, TN. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Shellsford Baptist Church with Dr. David Daugherty and Rev. Chuck Craig to officiate. Interment will follow in Shellsford Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday at High’s and 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the Church.
