Charles Ferman Swann

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Charles Ferman Swann, age 75, was born May 7, 1942 and died December 26, 2017 at his residence following a sudden illness. Retired from Oster, a United States Army veteran and a member of McMinnville First Free Will Baptist Church, he was the son of the late William “Bill” Swann and Marie Turner Swann Mayfield. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Tracie Annette Swann and Ricky Lee Swann; and two brothers, Russell Lawrence and Joe Wyatt Mayfield. He was married on May 29, 1982 to Dianne Hillis Swann of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Charles “Stacey” and Kim Swann of Cookeville, TN; two grandchildren & spouses, Nathan and Lindsay Waggoner of Sparta, TN and Ashley Waggoner and Luis Chavez of Cookeville, TN; five great-grandchildren, Caleb Waggoner, Carter Chavez, Ryleigh Chavez, Paxton Waggoner and Adeline Waggoner; several nieces and nephews; brother and sister-in-law, Monte and Cindy Swann of Viola, TN; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane Davis and Carl Nash of McMinnville and Donna and Dewey Smith of McMinnville; brother-in-law, David Hillis of McMinnville; and sisters-in-law, Anita Hillis of McMinnville, Pamela Young of Altamont, TN and “Bo” Burnett and husband David of Altamont, TN. Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2017 in High’s Chapel with Bill Eversole and Jason Nunley officiating. Burial will follow in Bascom Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.
