Dorothy Jo Stewart

Dorothy Jo Stewart, age 85, a McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native was born January 24, 1932 and died December 29, 2017 in St. Thomas River Park Hospital following an extended illness. She was the co-owner of Stewart’s Pharmacy, member of Central Church of Christ and daughter of the late Lowell and Hazel Martin Sanders. Mrs. Stewart was married September 7, 1950 to Nestor Stewart who preceded her in death on June 23, 2015. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughter, Mary Stewart; and brothers, Lowell “Bud” Sanders and Fred Sanders. She is survived by five children and spouses, David and Peg Stewart of McMinnville, Ella and David Wilson of Brentwood, TN, Donna Carr of Smithville, TN, Sherri and Barry Stowe of Nashville, TN, and Gina and Mike Craig of Witchita, KS; seventeen grandchildren, Jeremy Stewart of Malibu, CA, Justin Stewart of Santa Monica, CA, Brian Carr of Smithville, TN, Lee Carr of Nashville, TN, Patrick Carr of McMinnville, Joseph Woodlee of McMinnville, John Michael Woodlee of Louisville, KY, Emily Stewart of Nashville, TN, William Craig of Rockford, MI, Tyler Craig of Witchita, KS, Austin Craig of Witchita, KS, Sara Fletcher of Bahama, NC, Andrew Wilson of Brentwood, TN, Ashleigh Wilson of Brentwood, TN, Anne Carter Stowe of Nashville, TN, Mary Charles Stowe of Nashville, TN, and Lillian Stowe of Nashville, TN; fifteen great-grandchildren, Neri Stewart of Malibu, CA, Madison Dye of McMinnville, Ryvin Stewart of McMinnville, Toby Neal of Weatherford, TX, Margeaux Stewart of Millington, TN, Charlotte Stewart of Millington, TN, Bryce Carr of McMinnville, Layla Carr of McMinnville, Elizabeth Carr of Smithville, TN, Kathryn Carr of Smithville, TN, Annelise Carr of Nashville, TN, Lyla Carr of Nashville, TN, Annabelle Woodlee of McMinnville, William Fletcher of Bahama, NC and Ava Gardner of McMinnville; great-great-grandchildren, Landon Dye and Barrett Dye both of McMinnville; brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Mary Sanders of Clinton Township, MI; sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Sanders of Sterling Heights, MI, June Newby Byrd of Brentwood, TN and Faye Stewart of Nashville; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Frank and Gail Stewart and Derwood Stewart all of McMinnville. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 31, 2017 in High’s Chapel with Richard O’Connor, Julian Goodpaster and Randall Pardue to officiate. Interment will follow in Webb Cemetery at Bluff Springs. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday and 12:00 p.m. Sunday until the time of service at High’s. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Christ Disaster Relief Fund, Boyd Christian School or Healing Hands.
