Mary Ann Brown Krickel, 89, of Viola, TN, passed from this life Thursday, January 9, 2018, at St. Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville. Mary Ann was born on June 16, 1928 in McMinnville, TN to the late Charles Mabry and Jessie Stubblefield Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Charles M. Brown, Jr. She graduated from Warren Central High in McMinnville and attended UT Martin College and UT Knoxville, majoring in Home Economics. She was a teacher at Irving College Elementary and Warren County High School. She then moved to Ozark, AL and then Atlanta, GA before moving back to Viola. While in Georgia, she worked for Kroger, Firestone, in collections and Rich’s Department Store. Upon her move back to Tennessee, she was employed at the Warren County Tax Assessors office, where she retired. Mary Ann was an avid animal lover and member of the Atlanta Kennel Club. She loved flea markets and treasure hunting, traveling and attending the Warren County Senior Center and blue grass music events. She is survived by her children and spouses, Johnny and Bonnie Krickel of Conyers, GA, Martha and Mike Gibbs of Ranburne, AL and Charles and Brenda Krickel of Viola, TN; grandchildren, Jeremy and Vanessa Krickel, Kristi and Jason Hale, Will Gibbs, Jessie and Shane Gardner, Lindsey and Jake Holloway, Sarah Gibbs and Billy Carroll, Rachel and Bryan Sutton, Charlie Krickel II and Corteney Krickel; nine great-grandchildren; and special friend, Harold Drake. Memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018 at High Funeral Home with Bob Case to officiate. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday until the time of service at High’s.
