Jerry Nelson Cantrell

Jerry Nelson Cantrell, age 78, a McMinnville, TN resident and DeKalb County, TN native was born December 5, 1939 and died February 8, 2018 at his residence following a two-month illness. He was a retired self-employed auto mechanic, member of Sunny Hills Baptist Church and son of the late Duke Verell and Chloe Bell Judkins Cantrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three children, Steven and Terry Cantrell and Anita Rainey; six sisters, Inez Crouch, Irene Davis, Ruby Danley, Judy Hammock, Jeanette Rogers and Joann Ferrell; and three brothers, Dan, Junior and Felix Cantrell. Mr. Cantrell was married March 12, 1966 to Treva Prater Cantrell who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two grandchildren, Joshua Judkins of McMinnville and Brandon Judkins of Murfreesboro, TN; two great-grandchildren, Cassidy Judkins of McMinnville and Ethan White of South Bay, FL; and brother, Doris Cantrell of McMinnville. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 in High’s Chapel with John Jones to officiate. Interment will follow in Charles Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday and 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at High’s.
