McMinnville, TN resident and Putnam County, TN native Alma Langford Fariss, age 90, was born October 8, 1928 and died June 24, 2019 at her residence following a brief illness. A homemaker and a member of Central Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Wiley and Loretta Moore Langford. She was married on February 14, 1954 to James Eldridge Fariss who preceded her in death in 1987. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Alpha Coull; brother, Kenneth Langford; sister-in-law, Jean McAfee; and brother-in-law, R.C. Fariss. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Trina Fariss of McMinnville; two grandchildren, Brock and Brayden Fariss of McMinnville; two sisters, Olga Kinnaird of Cookeville, TN and Alice Kinnard of McMinnville; brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Dean Langford of McMinnville; sister-in-law, Evelyn Young of McMinnville; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2019 in High's Chapel with Mike Swims and Percy Phifer officiating. Burial will follow in Shellsford Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at High's.
