Anna Mai (Aunt Ann) Powell

Mrs. Anna Mai (Aunt Ann) Powell, age 87, entered into eternal rest with the Lord on Monday, Aug 12 at Willow Acres in Riceville, TN. A native and long-time resident of Campaign, TN, Ann was the daughter of the late Ezra and Mary Elizabeth “Mollie” (McBride) Hayes. She was a retired seamstress with Levi’s, in Campaign, and AquaTech in McMinnville.

Ann was a devoted Christian. She was a long-time member of the Pine Bluff Methodist Church in Rock Island and was also a member of the Victory Freewill Baptist Church in McMinnville and the Athens Lutheran Church after moving to Athens.

Ann was married to Mr. Lewis Powell, who preceded her in death in 2003, for over 50 years. 

Ann had an unconditional love for her family, friends, all furry animals, and community.

Uncle Lewis and Aunt Ann put other’s needs before their own. A simple couple with hearts of gold.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis; her loving parents; her beloved stepfather, Pleas Hillis; 2 brothers: Dillard and Johnny Hayes; and several aunts and uncles.

Ann is survived by her sister-in-law Christine Hayes of Troy Michigan; 3 nieces: Denise (Gil) Bergeron of Clawson, Michigan, Jackie (Roy) Yocom of Cable, Ohio, and Alison (Arthur) Walker of Athens, Tennessee, 2 nephews, Dillard Hayes of Troy, Michigan, and Jeff (Stephanie) Hayes of Otterbach, Germany, 2 great-nieces; Kristen (Chris) Urbanik and Lauren Bergeron, all of Clawson, Michigan, 4 great-nephews; Dillard Hayes of Clawson, Michigan, Arthur Walker II of Athens, TN, Matthew (Nikole) Yocom of Cable, Ohio, and Finnigan Hayes of Otterbach, Germany, and 3 great great-nephews; Noah and Lucas Urbanik of Clawson, Michigan, and Kaylen Yocom of Cable, Ohio, and many special friends and neighbors in Campaign.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2024 in High’s Chapel with Don Coulter officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Bluff Cemetery in Rock Island, TN. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at High’s.
