Anthony Shaun Koontz

McMinnville, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native Anthony Shaun “Fat Boy” Koontz, age 42, was born May 25, 1982 and died December 25, 2024 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital following an extended illness.

A former employee of Yorozu and member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of Anthony “Tony” Dale Koontz of McMinnville and the late Brenda Lee Roberts Koontz. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by uncles, Eugene Roberts, Cecil Roberts, Billy Koontz and Gerald Koontz; aunt, Carolyn Roberts; paternal grandparents, Fred and Eva Koontz and maternal grandparents, E.J. and Kathleen Roberts.

He was married December 11, 2023 to Jennifer Marie Martin of McMinnville who survives. In addition to his father and wife, he is survived by children, Mandy (Braiden) Ervin, Cheyenne Koontz and Dominic Koontz; grandson, Ryker Ervin; sister, Crystal (Billy) Johnson of Logan County, KY; brother, Steven (Brittany) Koontz of Coffee County, TN; aunts, Geraldine (Wayne) Madewell of McMinnville, Janet (Darrell) Trapp and Donna (Buddy) Roberson both of Smithville, TN and special friends, Shala Manus and Isaac Tyler. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Per his wishes, Mr. Koontz will be cremated. There will be no service or visitation at High's.
