Aradell Holt Jones

McMinnville, TN resident and Dekalb County, TN native Aradell Holt Jones, age 96, was born April 27, 1927 and died January 13, 2024 at NHC Healthcare of McMinnville following a short illness. 

A homemaker and member of Central Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late James David and Lou Crity Bain Holt. She was married to Willard Edward Jones on December 7, 1997, who preceded her in death on June 16, 2000. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughters, Betty Ruth Weddington, Linda Faye Rhea and Molly Carol Ashmore; granddaughter, Jaime Ashby; great-granddaughter, Katelyn Beth Smith; great-grandson, Cody Green; brothers, W.D. Holt, James Allen Holt, Clayton Louis Holt and Clarence Daniel Holt and sisters, Edith Inez Burch and Sadie Evelyn Roark.

Mrs. Jones is survived by daughter, Jo Ann (Jim) Smoot of Morrison, TN; grandchildren, Amy (Neal) Smith of McMinnville, TN, Tim Smoot of Morrison, TN, Carl (Becky) Green of McMinnville, TN, Angela (Marty)  George, of the Dibrell Community and Misty Fults, John Ashmore, III and Joe Ashmore, all of McMinnville, TN; ten great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Gail Neal of McMinnville, TN, Ponzell Usrey of Quebeck, TN and Louise Duggin of McMinnville, TN;  brother, Morris Holt of McMinnville, TN and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 19, 2024 in High’s Chapel with Mike Bost officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Warren County, TN. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at High Funeral Home.
