Aubrey Eugene “Gene” Woodlee, age 87, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2019 at the home of his brother, Gordon, after an extended battle with cancer. Special care was given by Charlene Woodlee, whom he called “his angel”. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Chris “F.C.” and Iva Lee Woodlee; wife, Joan Lamb Woodlee; brother, Ralph Woodlee; step-son, Craig Tarjan; and niece, Kim Gangi. Gene was a former resident of Florence, NJ and returned to Warren County a few years ago. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean War and a 1954 graduate of Warren County High School. He was retired from the automotive industry and member of the Church of Christ. Gene is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Gordon and Charlene Woodlee of McMinnville and Jerry and Kathy Woodlee of Lake Charles, LA; step-son, Rick Navarro of California; brother-in-law, John Lamb; nieces & nephews, Debra Woodlee Mailley and husband Ken of Murfreesboro, Jeff Woodlee and wife Tara of Knoxville, Jennifer Woodlee Brooks and husband Duane of McMinnville, Tim Woodlee of McMinnville, Chris Woodlee and wife Jana of Alabama, Jason Woodlee and wife Elaine of New Jersey, Stacey Woodlee and wife Dee of Louisiana and Frank Woodlee of McMinnville; and numerous great-nephews and nieces. A special thanks to Avalon Hospice. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2019 in High’s Chapel with Tim Long to officiate. Interment will follow in Armstrong Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service at High’s.
