McMinnville, TN resident and New York City, NY native August "Augie" Judkins, age 72, was born April 13, 1946 and died December 4, 2018 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN following a sudden illness.A retired welder with DeZurik Corporation, a United States Army veteran of Vietnam, and a member of the Church of Christ at Earlyville, he was the son of the late Gentry Haston and Trudie Grawin Judkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard "Dickie" Judkins and Donald Judkins; and nephew, Robert Madewell.He was married on July 22, 1966 to Linda Young Judkins of McMinnville. In addition to his wife of fifty-two years, he is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Chris and Sabernia Judkins of McMinnville and Kevin Judkins of Morrison, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Dowie Green of Rock Island, TN; five grandchildren, Chase Judkins and wife Shelby, Gracie Judkins and Tyler Judkins all of McMinnville, and Ethan Green and Emily Green both of Rock Island, TN; great-grandson, Gentry August Judkins; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Bob Crittenden of Bone Cave, TN; fishing brother, Philip West; and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2018 in High's Chapel with Johnny Lance officiating. Burial will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens in Smithville, TN with full military honors administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
