McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County native, Austin Henry King, age 84, was born May 8, 1940 and died November 1, 2024 at NHC Healthcare of McMinnville following an extended illness.

A retired nurseryman with Heather Farms and a Christian, he was the son of the late John and Hassie Perry King. Mr. King was married January 19, 1963 to Betty Sue Youngblood King who preceded him in death. In addition to his parents and mother, he was preceded in death by son, Austin Henry King, Jr.; granddaughter, Angela Dawn King; brother, J.C. King and sisters, Irene King, Ruth Roberts and Judy Tigue.

He is survived by children, Dwight King of Rock Island, TN, Allen (Penny) King of Sparta, TN and Anna (Danny) Smedley and Jeffery (Brandy) King both of McMinnville; grandchildren, Bethany Trainer, Tessa King, Allison Chilton, Collin Smedley, Juliua Johnson, Haley King, Brittany King and A.J. King; eleven great-grandchildren; brothers, Cecil (Evelyn) King, John (Margie) King and Tommy (Bridgette) King all of McMinnville; sister, Carolyn (Randy) Tigue of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. 

Graveside service and interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, November 3, 2024 at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville with Timmy King and Mike Hillis to officiate. Family and friends are to meet at the cemetery. There will be no service or visitation held at High’s.

Graveside service and interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, November 3, 2024 at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville with Timmy King and Mike Hillis to officiate. Family and friends are to meet at the cemetery. There will be no service or visitation held at High’s.
