McMinnville resident and Warren County native Bertha Lucille Hayes, age, 83, was born August 19, 1937 and died September 26, 2020 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A homemaker and member of East End Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late James Monroe and Willie Frances Elrod Davenport. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Edward Hayes; daughter, Donna Hayes; two sisters, Mary Ann Bishop and Joann Dove; brother, James Monroe "Sonny" Davenport and sister-in-law, Velma Davenport. Mrs. Hayes was married to Don Hayes of McMinnville. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Ricky Lynn and Nancy Hayes of Michigan; four grandchildren, Chelsea Hayes of Louisville, KY and Lauren and Jacob Jones, Joe and Samantha Hayes and Sarah Hayes all of Michigan; five great-grandchildren; sister, Faye Glenn of McMinnville; brother-in-law, W.M. Bishop of McMinnville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Harry and Betty Dunn of McMinnville and Jimmy and Sheila Hayes of Smyrna, TN and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service and interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Stroud Cemetery with Kevin Key officiating.
