McMinnville resident and Anderson County, TN native Betty Joyce Hawkins, age 90, was born May 20, 1934 and died September 5, 2024 at NHC Healthcare in Smithville, TN following an extended illness. 

A homemaker and a member of Long Mountain Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Bessie Isbell Harmon. She was married to Frank Hawkins on January 18, 1950 who preceded her in death on April 12, 2013. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son, Bobby Frank Hawkins, Jr.; brothers, Walter Harmon, Woody Harmon, Jack Harmon and Roy Harmon; sister, Shirley Taylor; infant siblings, Johnny and Janie Harmon and grandchildren, Lora Crabtree and Bobby Hawkins.

Mrs. Hawkins is survived by five children, Catherine Sunday of Wisconsin, Linda Taylor of McMinnville, Juanita Hawkins of Knoxville, TN and Christine Hawkins and Bruce Hawkins, both of McMinnville; grandchildren, Tony Jennings, Josh Taylor, Samantha Jones, James Brooks, Hunter Hawkins, Jessie Wilson, Kristy Comfort, Christopher Hawkins, Alia Hawkins and Amanda Hill; fifteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

Graveside service and interment will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2024 at Cagle Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Sequatchie County, TN. No service or visitation will be held at High’s.
