Betty Sue Deaton

Betty Sue Deaton, age 79, a McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native was born February 6, 1941 and died November 10, 2020 at her residence following an extended illness. A retired employee of A.O. Smith and member of Rock Island Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Clifton Woodrow and Hazel Leona Hill Griffith. Mrs. Deaton was married in June 1959 to Douglas Milton Deaton of McMinnville, TN. In addition to her husband, she is survived by son, Steven Douglas Deaton of McMinnville, TN; grandchildren, Dayron (Daniel) Owens and Steven Ian “Blake” (Sarah) Deaton all of McMinnville, TN; great-grandchildren, Brinley and Levi Deaton; brother, Jimmy (Ramona) Griffith of Mt. Juliet, TN and sister, Joy Griffith (Brad) Wagner of Florida. A graveside service and interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Mike Steakley officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at High’s. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rock Island Church of Christ or Alzheimer's of Tennessee.
