Billy Maddux Stubblefield, of Viola, TN, age 84, was born on November 26, 1933 and passed away on October 8, 2018 at the Webb House following a brief illness. He was a veteran of the United States Army, member of McMinnville First United Methodist Church and son of the late William Locke and Anna Clara Gessler Stubblefield. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Nancy Dillon Stubblefield; sister, Mary Frances Stubblefield; and brother-in-law, Smartt Ramsey.Mr. Stubblefield graduated from Central High School, Tennessee Technological University and received his master’s from Middle Tennessee State University. He was first lieutenant stationed at Pirmasens, Germany from 1955 to 1957. He taught biology and math in Warren County for 37 years. He also was an adjunct teacher at Motlow Community College for several years. Survivors include his daughter, Mary D. Koelbl and husband Steve of McMinnville; son, William David Stubblefield of Morrison; grandchildren and spouses, Jay W. and Janey Koelbl of Charlotte, NC, Jennifer and Shawn McAward of Knoxville, TN, Mary Ann and Phil Tarrant of Dalton, GA and Beth Stubblefield of Augusta, GA; great-granddaughters, Sarah Ann Tarrant and Alexis Grace McAward; sister-in-law, Kay Ramsey of McMinnville; nieces, Lynne Ramsey-Guerrero and husband Jack of Elgin, SC, Patricia Robinson and husband Robbie of Chattanooga, TN; and nephew, Allen Ramsey and wife Tricia of Gallatin, TN.Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 14, 2018 at McMinnville First United Methodist Church Outreach Building with a celebration of life beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Tommy Vann and Rev.
