McMinnville resident and Warren County native Bobbye Sue "Yaya" McCormick, age 78, was born July 14, 1941 and died June 14, 2020 at her residence following an extended illness. A retired employee of A.O. Smith, she was the daughter of the late George and Ada Leath Leverett. She was married April 16, 1960 to Harvey Joel McCormick who preceded her in death October 7, 2000. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by grandson, T.J. Burks; two brothers, Billy and Steve Leverett and sister, Carol Leverett Estes. She loved flowers, gardening, cooking and watching her red birds. She loved her family very much and her fur baby Dutchess. Mrs. McCormick is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Tony Hodges of Rock Island, TN; grandchildren, Natasha (Bryan) Ferrell of Morrison, TN, Memphis Hodges of Rock Island, TN and Shae Hodges, Serenity Moore and Dessie Hodges all of McMinnville; great-grandchildren, Kaydance Ferrell, Slayden Moore, Luke Nisbett, Kyler Nisbett, Emeri Cummings and Aiden Cummings; brother, Charles Leverett of McMinnville; two sisters, Helen Anderson and Joann Leverett both of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2020 in High's Chapel with Jerry Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Cemetery.
