Charles Trabue King, Sr.

McMinnville, TN resident and Beersheba Springs native Charles Trabue King, Sr., age 93, was born July 10, 1931 and died September 6, 2024. He was at peace with the end of his life and passed peacefully in the presence of his family. He will be missed by many and remembered as a man with a big heart and a big smile. He loved his entire family and believed in God and Jesus Christ as his savior.

A retired employee with the TVA, he was the son of the late Aubra Hill and Callie Dora Hale King. At age 23, on June 9, 1954, he married Sandra Pearl Shaw King who also preceded him in death. They were married in Rossville, GA. He and his wife Sandy raised their children in the Irving College community of Warren County, TN. They were both members of Smyrna Church of Christ and were both baptized in the Collins River close to their home.  In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by and siblings, Josephine Eubanks, Ruby Tate, Calbert King, Louise Beard and Arlen King.

Mr. King is survived by children, Hilda Pearl McNeese of Dover, TN, Charles (Sue) King, Jr. of McMinnville, Wiley "Pete" Ernest (Donna) King of McMinnville, Michael Clay (Jamie) King of Rock Island and Jesse (Cindy) King of Irving College; grandchildren, Wendy, Oland, Justin, Charles III, Jenny, Sandra Beth, Clint, Michael Ray, Misty, Trista, Cooper, Blake, Jeremy and Jesse; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Kacie, Zeb, Gabriel, Lex, Samuel, Mary, Nolan, Sofia, Peter, Abby, Olivia, Aubrey, Carter, Shelby, Gavin, Corbin, Jasper, Aaron, Emma, NIcholas, Nola, Camden, Kayleigh, Sarah, James Benjamin and William; great-great-grandchildren, Felix, Elowen, Aubrey and Colbie; siblings, Katherine Cole of McMinnville and Violet Bennett of Cleveland, OH and several nieces and nephews.

Per his wishes, Mr. King will be cremated. The family will receive friends Friday, September 20, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at High's.
