McMinnville, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native Charles Lamont Stanley, age 86, was born November 24, 1933 and died February 25, 2020 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville following an extended illness. A retired produce salesman, a member of the TN Army National Guard, and a member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Levi Woodlee and Ethel Grissom Stanley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by granddaughter, Racheal Diamond; and brother, Alsey Stanley. He was married on November 24, 1979 to Melba Rains Stanley of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five daughters, Vickie Sanders and Shirley Stanley both of Oakfield, TN, Charlene Cowden and husband Bill of Humboldt, TN, Virginia Fancher of Calvert City, KY, and Amanda Stanley and fiancé Coty Phillips of Cookeville, TN; four grandsons and three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2020 in High’s Chapel with Greg Rains officiating. Burial will follow in Hebron Cemetery with full military honors administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at High’s.
