Charles N. "Shot" Nunley

Charles N. “Shot” Nunley, age 83, a McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native was born July 26, 1937 and passed September 7, 2020 at his residence following a brief illness. He was a graduate of Central High School, graduated U.T. Knoxville where he received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and graduated MTSU with a Master’s in Education. He was a retired Director of the Tennessee Vocational Technical School, a member of the First Presbyterian Church since 1945, and the son of the late J.L. and Fannie Belle Newman Nunley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Joe E. Nunley and J.L. Nunley, Jr. Mr. Nunley was married June 26, 1960 to Patricia Strick Nunley. In addition to his wife he is survived by daughter, Susan (David) Marttala of McMinnville, TN; son, Charles N. (Allison) Nunley, Jr. of Murfreesboro, TN; and five grandchildren, Shelby, Will, and Lilly Marttala, and Erin and Morgan Nunley. A graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. September 9, 2020 at Mt. Zion Cemetery with Rev. Jimmie Lancaster and Rev. John Todd officiating. Family and friends are to meet at cemetery. Wearing a face mask and social distancing is requested by the family. Honorary Pall Bearers will be McMinnville Rotary Club.
