Claudene Francis Ray

Rock Island, TN resident and Cannon County, TN native Claudene Francis Ray, age 96, was born June 10, 1928 and died September 27, 2024 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital following a brief illness.

A retired bookkeeper and member of Christ Church at Bone Cave, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Georgie Tenpenny Francis. Mrs. Ray was married November 18, 1950 to Edwin Harold Ray who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Nancy Oleta Armstrong, Faye O'Neal and Carol Wood and brother, Randall Kim Francis.

She is survived by children, Jan (Terry) Kendall of Cookeville, TN and Keith Ray of Rock Island; granddaughter, Macie Kendall of Cookeville; two great-grandchildren, Collins Anderson and Maddux Anderson and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2024 in High's Chapel with Haskell Myers to officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at High's.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels.
