McMinnville resident and Warren County native Clayta “June” McGee, age 81, was born August 22, 1943 and died March 13, 2025 at her sister’s residence following an extended illness.

A retired employee of Milstead Nursery and Genesco and member of Smyrna Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Foster Dillard and Edna Lee Powell Taylor. Mrs. McGee was married December 22, 1966 to Jessie Floyd McGee who preceded her in death on March 10, 2015. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughter, Jessica McGee Jacobs; great-granddaughter, angel baby; sister, Ann Milstead; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alton and Gladys McGee; niece, Aleesha Butcher; brothers-in-law, Eugene Milstead and Dwight Pearsall and son-in-law, Danny Lee Herrin, Jr.

She is survived by daughter, Tracy (Stanley) Romero of McMinnville; grandchildren, Maelee McGee (Maleke) Ramirez, Tristen McGee Jacobs, Gracie Herrin, Serenity Jordan and Harmony Jordan; siblings, Kathy Pearsall and Bobby Taylor; son-in-law, Corey Jacobs; nieces: Tonya Crouch and Denae Majors; nephews, David Milstead and Benji Taylor; great-nieces, Baelee Crouch, Natalie Green and Presley Green; great-nephew, Dillard Taylor and several cousins and close family friends.

June served as president of Fairview CIC for 25 years, making many dear friends. She also won the Exchange Club Book of Golden Deeds. June along with Nancy Rhea organized the Fairview Jammers.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday March 18, 2025 in High’s Chapel with Rickey Magness, Rachel Cantrell and Ronnie Powell to officiate. Interment will follow at New Union Cemetery Hwy. 30 in Warren County. Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at High’s.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Shriners Hospitals for Children or Meals on Wheels.
